Surgical Thrombectomy for a Free-floating Right Atrial Thrombus in a Pregnant Thrombophilia Patient: A Case Report
Abstract

Introduction: A 25-year-old woman at 28 weeks of gestation was admitted with a free-floating thrombus in the right atrium. The patient had a history of surgical intervention for chronic pulmonary embolism, which - along with her thrombophilia - posed a high risk of recurrent thromboembolism.
Materials and Methods: Endovascular thrombus extraction was selected as the most favourable treatment approach. The postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient was discharged in good clinical condition.
Conclusion and Result: The presented clinical case of successful endovascular thrombectomy may be considered for managing right-sided cardiac thrombosis in pregnant patients.
